Delivery & Installation

At Opera Care, we have a comprehensive UK-wide delivery network which enables us to deliver and install equipment quickly and efficiently. With stock-holdings in London, Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester, Hull and Swindon, we are able to offer next day delivery as standard on all stocked products.

In light of the current situation, our delivery and courier teams are following additional highly stringent sanitisation procedures. We have also introduced a Non-Contact delivery method for both care homes and private homes.

Standard Next Day Courier Delivery

Our courier delivery service is available on items from small parcels to large equipment. Orders of stocked products placed by 4pm will be delivered the next working day as standard. Delivery is FREE for all orders of £150 and over.

Small Item (<10kg) Delivery - FREE

This rate will be applied to orders of goods weighing less than 10kg. This includes pressure care cushions, patient handling slings, bed grab rails etc.

Medium Item (10kg+) Delivery - FREE

This rate will be applied to orders of medium sized goods weighing more than 10kg. This includes mattresses, overbed tables, headboards etc.

Equipment/Large Item Delivery - FREE

Non-Contact Delivery. Our courier service will deliver large equipment, including beds, on a pallet, placing them outside and as close to your property as possible. Other than a signature of receipt there will be no contact between our courier service and the recipient. Next working day on stocked goods.

Bed Delivery and Installation

2-man Installation

Beds are delivered in a compact form that allows them to be transported cost-effectively and manouvered through standard doorways when being installed. There are two installation options:

Standard Home Installation Service (5-10 Days) - £95.00

With our Standard Home Installation Service, your bed will be delivered and installed in your home within 5-10 working days of purchasing. A third party installation service will handle your delivery and inform you of a delivery date 2-3 days after ordering.

Premium Named Day Home Installation Service (2-3 Days) - £145.00

By selecting our Premium Named Day Home Installation Service, your bed will be delivered and installed in your home within 2-3 working days of purchasing. You will be given a delivery date when you order and will receive a call from the installation crew 1 hour before delivery.

Alongside our standard delivery rates and methods, we offer a range of complimentary services that you can utilise to best fulfill your needs.

Timed Delivery

With this option, your goods will arrive on a pallet by courier service for you to assemble. The shipment will be dropped outside as close to your property as possible. Next working day delivery on all orders of stocked goods placed by 4pm

Same Day Delivery

For emergency orders, we offer same day delivery subject to availability. Same day deliveries are calculated by distance and depending on engineer availability can also include installation.

Old Bed/Chair Removal

We are able to take away your old bed and/or chair and dispose of them. Cost per item is £65.00 with VAT relief.

Distribution Centre

Non-Stock and Made-to-Order Items

While we stock a wide range of care equipment and furniture that we will despatch same day, there are some products that are either made to order or have longer lead-times. In these instances we will contact you within one working day to provide you with an approximate despatch date. Should the lead-time on the product be an issue, we will do everything possible to expedite the process or offer you a refund.

Preparing for Your Delivery

Courier deliveries will take place between 8am and 5pm. The courier being used for your shipment will keep you informed of progress via their tracking portal, SMS messages and/or email. If you require a specified time, please state at time of ordering.

Equipment deliveries such as beds will also take place between 8am and 5pm. Again you can specify and pay for a timed slot when your order. If you are having the bed installed, the installation crew will call you 1 hour before they arrive on the day.

While the equipment will be delivered in transportation mode, which is much smaller than its finally installed size, it is worthwhile measuring your room space in advance of ordering to ensure there is space for the product to be installed. We recommend a working space of 2x2.5m in the room where the equipment will be installed. Further to this we recommend our installation customers perform a walk-through check to ensure clear and easy access for our engineers when manoeuvring the equipment from the delivery truck to its end position.

Please also consider that some of our deliveries come on large lorries so please let us know when you place your order if you need to highlight any access restrictions.
